Going to make some jerky this weekend. Will add 1 tsp of #1 cure per 5 lbs of meat. So if I use the cure does the jerky need to be refridgerated?

It will last about a week at room temp then it will start to show signs of mold.

I have had jerky in containers with holes in the lid for a week with no affects. Just dont zip baggy and leave on counter, moisture will make them go bad fast. When i ship jerky overseas sometimes the sons dont get it for a couple weeks and its still fine (vac sealed)

Not sure about 'at room temperature' but I have vac packed and frozen and had in the freezer for months and it is still good.
