Made the fresh sausage that caribou made , have very old smaller Oster grinder that has ground ton's of deer , first time though it stuffed sausage and we only did the 1# bags , by the end of eight pounds it sounded pretty sick  :-[, would ladies and gentlemen please give me some advice on new ones . I have been looking at a gander mountain #12 item number 401082 179.99 or cabelas pro grinder item number Ik-517628 169.99 . I also went to eBay and man they have so many listed I couldn't believe it . I can't cure the sausage fix till I get a new one !! Any advice or help will be appreciated , also since I have to get the grinder I might have to hold off on a stuffer so it will have to do double duty . Thanks again Tim

In my honest opinion you need both a stuffer and a grinder, it makes it so much easier and more fun to do sausage. The stuffer I use is a very old enterprise cast iron stuffer, it came from my grandfather and its a pain to clean but makes sausage making that much easier..So if I had a choose I would use the old grinder if its still alive and buy a new stuffer. ;D

I agree, I tried stuffing with my mixer and it took forever. I have the Gander mountain .2HP #5. Bought the LEM 5lb stuffer and it cut down my time by at least 30 minutes for 5# and it was a lot easier. Well worth the money in my opinion.
