... because mine looks pretty grim at the moment. With crumbling countertops and a pretty bad design, it wasn't all that great to begin with ...

... but we took some stuff out...

... and ripped out the floor and ceiling...

...and then cut some holes...

In the meantime, we've moved the essentials into the garage and are rotating between eating all that prepared stuff in the freezer (soups, pulled pork, chili, pasta sauce, etc.) and using the SRG & RED to whack out fast protein on demand.

Plan to start the buildout tomorrow with plumber and electrician doing their things over the next several days, then cabinets & ceiling next week followed by countertops and floor. With luck, I'll be doing corned beef & cabbage in a new kitchen by St. Patrick's Day. In the meantime, hal, send me yours.

I remember this a few years ago. We didn't really use the garage too much. The grill outisde along with a griddle got the lions share of work.

Last time I did this (in previous house) I swore I'd never again live in a house while the kitchen was being renovated. Only 20 years and the memory wasn't strong enough to keep me from doing it again. What was I thinking?

CRG - The blonde is movable but the liquor cabinet is not in the kitchen. So much for "favorite room" status.

I'm buying my Grandparents house and remodeling it for our daughter and Grandson. The kitchen is already ripped out and the new cabinets are due to be delivered on Sat. I'll have to stack them in the living room for now because I'm putting in a new kitchen floor first. Fun, fun! ;D

I say add a vent for the Bradley, that way you would have something no-one else has an indoor smoker! :D Add a bigger vent then you could nhave a Big Easy in there as well!

No, you're doing it right...
The travertine should last forever, but if you ever want to change the floor WITHOUT gutting the kitchen again... ;)

I'm using much of my old "footprint", but busting out (and fixing) tile where changes are.
(So that the tile, again, goes around all the cabinetry)

I'll be 63 next week and I plan on dying in this house sometime down the road (really far down the road). Barring some sort of disaster, this is ABSOLUTELY the LAST time I will ever remodel a kitchen.

Heck, I'm 50, and I ain't NEVER doing this again. NEVER EVER. I don't care if pigs DO fly. Ain't gonna happen.
