So the volunteer fire dept is havin a chili feed tonight and guess who got volunteered to make some chili.

Seein that my son is a volunteer there I said you get the stuff and I'll make it.

I was a slavin away before I thought about takin some pictures.  ::)

Got every thing in the pot but the liquids.

Added a bunch of tomato sauce.

Topped it off with some water.

And this morning after simmering all night.

Had a bowl of breakfast.  ;D

The heat level is just right, almost made my nose run.  ;D

You think 18 qt will be enough for 29 grown men? :D

Edit; one of the pictures didnt load.

Nothing like waking up with the house smelling like a fresh pot of chili.  ;D

Looks tasty to me.  The beans that STC doesn't eat, I'll be happy to eat.

I was wondering when someone would bring up the beans.  :D

Around these parts theres beans in our chili even at the restaurants. ;D

It may not be chili but it sure is some great looking caldillo de hamburguesa y frijoles (spicy stew of hamburger and beans).

'Spicy Meat & Bean Soup' works for me!

Chili here has beans as well, and optional 'oil' if you want a extra dose of hamburger grease floating on top..

Spicy stew of hamberger and beans with 2 heaping cups of Penzeys Medium Hot Chili powder.  ;D

Habanero Smoker

The Chili looks great. The beans are a must in my area as well If you want to add meat that is optional  :) and you then have to call it Chili con Carne.

     I
         don't
                   inhale.

This pot has 10 lb browned GB, 10 lb Roma tomatos, 3 lb white onions, 2 lb jalapenos, one head of garlic,
2 cups chili powder, 1/4 cup cumin, 1/4 cup Lawry's seasoned salt, 1 Tbl + 1 tsp oregano and a gallon of tomato sauce then topped off with some water.

Makin me hungry just thinking about it.  ;D

Sounds great!

I hope you have some help to move that roaster!   I made a roaster full for a chili cookoff last year, and I was afraid the handles were going to shear off......

Beans or not, I would hammer it with a big ole hunk of cornbread!!
The fight isn't over until the winner says it is.

My concern is how to keep all in the pot during transport.  ;D
