In another thread Ka Honu suggested someone gather cell phone numbers of members coming.  I agreed to do that via PM and will then communicate the list to all via a PM.  Thus far I have received numbers from Ronbeaux, NePaS and Hal4UK.

Anyone else coming who wants to be on the call list?

KyNola

Ka Honu and Southern Smoked have been added.  Anyone else?

Looks great, Rick!!!
Awrighten!

Well, There's 17 of us, and there will be a lot of running around here and there and what not...
And, we're all supposed to do lunch together (at a restaurant) at least ONE day...

So, anyhow, NEPAS, and CRG (that I know of) are bringing some GOODIES.
Does the RS have a courtyard in the center we can use?  Maybe have a "smoky treats dinner/cocktail hour" some night?
Lord knows, I'm a "play-it-by-ear" guy...  Don't really care for anything that resembles a "rigid schedule" on vacation...
But it ain't all that far away, and maybe we need to get some GROUP things figgered out?
Probably best that we all know the "BE HERE AT THIS PLACE AT THIS TIME" things.
What do y'all think?

I agree (on many levels) that we should agree to meet somewhere...I'm pretty sure our hotel is right around the corner from the Sonesta...so...we are there.

Not sure what we can bring other then our bubbly personalities!! I have no idea what California will let you take out on a plane... a little wahcky at airports here...

I think I've read you can bring drugs in at the border...but can't bring food on the plane!!!!  :o :D

Yes, it does.  Probably seating for 20-30 or so..   Orange trees, fountains, fish pond, etc.   It's very nice, and connected to the Jazz Club and Le Booze via a small hallway.

KyNola

As STC says, there is a courtyard but some of the time it may be booked for weddings, etc.  And Pat is also correct about it being in close proximity to Le Booze.  That is a Bourbon Street streetside bar at the RS where you can watch all of the craziness from a safe distance.  They know me quite well in there! ::)

LQ, what hotel are you staying in?

Ohh no! Between CRG slapping a horse and Nepas fishing for carp in the fancy pool we are all going to jail. I got dibs on the top bunk.

I think we should all pick a spot to meet Wednesday evening and make plans then. Plan making is much more fun clinking glasses before the close one eye to walk straight stage.

I suggest Pat Obrian's 7PM, or in Nawlin's speak '4th Hurricane.'
The fight isn't over until the winner says it is.

Ka Honu

If anyone's in the mood earlier on Wednesday, let me know.  I'm probably good for some combination of coffee & beignet at Cafe DuMonde, breakfast at Stanley, and lunch at Cochon Butcher or Drago (charbroiled oysters).  After that, I'll probably either start drinking seriously or take a nap before figuring out dinner and seeing if they'll let me back into Pat O's.  If I'm not there, look in my usual hangout, Johnny White's (the dive bar across the street and up two doors).

It's right out and smidge down from the Conti street entrance to the Sonesta parking garage - next to the Copper Monkey. We walked by it a dozen times.

LQ, all I can say is WOW!  When STC mentioned where it was located I thought "uh oh" but I am stunned to say the least.  That place has had a total transformation since I was in NOLA last year and boy did it need it!  Doesn't look the same, even changed the name.  Will look forward to seeing that place.

Ky...I read a lot of crappy stuff on the web about it before it was remodeled...the comments after that were really great...You all are more than welcome to tour our room!!! I t looks nice and as I said...had friends of friends that stayed there and loved it...I dunno...I look at it like Vegas...how much time do ya really spend in the room!!!
