Looks like a good test run WatchDog!  ;)

If I remember correctly you had (or maybe still do) a 4 rack DBS before. That new 6 rack sure is shiny... but not for long!  :D

You are right Mr Walleye. Had to throw the cabinet of the 4 rack away but still have the smoke chamber and racks.

Why did you have to throw cabinet away? Also how old is it? Im thinking of buying a used one but now kinda worried about it.

It was only about 1 1/2 years old when it caught fire. Not smoker fault I think it was mine,(I should have scraped drip pan clean in the middle of smoking some pork butts.) Cabinet melted door and when I took off back to look at the guts the foam insulation was melted.

I thought metal might of rusted out or something along those lines. How long can a person figure one of these to last.

This August my OBS will be seven years old, and it has been outside 24/7 with only a protective cover. Over that time it has taken a six foot fall, and a three foot fall. I've only had to replace the face plate, the original element and I'm now on my third cover.

The original element did not burn out, it is glass and when Bradley switched to the metal elements I replace my original when I did the second element modification.
