When I a small batch 5-10 lbs I use the 6qt KA mixer.  When I go to a bigger batch, I use my Cabela's mixer attached to the 1hp grinder motor.  Sure beats the hell out using arthritic hands.

Well stupid me! I bought the wife her kitchen aid years ago for Christmas. When she mentioned it I about went through the roof. What in the world do you need such an expensive mixer for. So being the cheapskate I am I started looking for a cheaper model. When i noticed you could grind and stuff sausage I changed my tone. Went out and bought her the best and biggest model available. Well sure put me on her good side. Been using it ever since to grind and stuff. But I never thought of using it to mix meat. Always do it with my hands. Bet that changes soon! LOL

When you mix your meat with the KitchenAid start at speed #1, the go up to #2. Don't try to use a higher speed.
