Did a double batch of Seemores 'Blazen Pistachios' but made a few changes.  :D
I wanted to spice them up a bit.  ;D

For two pounds of pistachios I used:
2 T melted butter
6 T liquid from pickled jalapenos
6 T Frank's X-Hot cayenne sauce
1 T Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp salt
2 tsp Soileau's seasoning (Thanks Pat)

All mixed and into a 250 degree F smoker with smoke still rolling from the cheese smoke this morning.

Ready to come out after an hour or so, I did mix them a couple times during the smoke.

Onto newspaper to cool.  :)

If they crisp up when cooled they will be really good. I had to try a few out of the smoker, still hot.
Finger lickin good.  :D

Nice Greg!   where did you get the basket?

Its a secret.  ;) ;D

I picked it up at either Wally World or K-Mart. I found it in the office supply area. It is aluminum and HAD rubber feet on it. I peeled the feet off and it works great. Since its aluminum I just toss it in the dishwasher with the racks.  :)

Thanks,  I have seen them in the office supply section.... just never thought about using it for the smoker.

I saw a set today at Costco - it had a basket like that and then had a saucepan shaped one with the mesh & a cover for the saucepan.  It was 39.99 so I passed.

This one was only a few dollars. Can't remember exactly but it was fairly cheap.

After cooling they were not as crisp as I liked so I put them into the dehydrator for a couple hours. Now they are great. :)

Pensrock they do look great and I am going to have to try them. In Arabic, Pistachios are called Aleppo Nuts (supposably where the nut originated) and that is where I am now. I will make sure to pick up few pounds before heading home and try that with your and Seemore recipes.

That Soileau's kicks it up just right. I can't seem to keep enough Pistachios around the house anymore.
I tried almonds with this recipe also. YUMMY!!!  :P  ;D
