Well now that the wife has had her training as a BBQ judge we will be off to judge at the Canadian Festival of Chilli and Barbecue. Ok so it is in our city about three blocks from were we live.  ;D We just learned today the mystery meat for the chilli is are you ready for it..... Muskox. Each team will get 2 1/2 lbs of Muskox to make their chilli out of. Should be a blast. Right now there are 25 teams registered for the competition. Each team will be getting and Pork Butt from one of the sponsors to cook up and give to the Firefighters so they can pull the butts and sell sandwiches for the Firefighters Burn Fund. The event is in Langley, BC at Cascade Casino on Fraser Hwy. for those of you wanting to come out. The competition is on May 28 and 29. On Saturday it will be the Chilli cookoff and two special categories of Backyard Burger (anything goes), these can get a little crazy and Chef's Challenge (Pork Chops) with turn in times of noon and 1:00 pm. On Sunday it will be the usual meats of  11am Pork Butt, 12 noon Brisket, 1pm Chicken and 2pm Ribs. Should be a lot of fun.

We toured a Muskox farm up in Alaska.  They shear them like sheep.   This one is too cute to eat.  :D

Must a Canadian thing, eh :D

How about moose chili?

I knew that would throw some for a loop, us Canucks are a little weird that way, last year the mystery meat for the chilli was Kangaroo. Man I love being Canadian. ;D
