Scottie's Gourmet Meats

Hey y'all!

I have a small business that I am attempting to take to the next level. I make jerky/pepperoni/summer sausage/& smoked fish and I am now at the point that I am going to have to be putting ingredients on my labels as well as the nutritional information. ingredients is not a problem, but I am not sure how or where to get the Nutritional Information. Anybody dealt with this before? If so can y'all maybe point me in the correct direction?

Thanks guys!

I always thought there were exceptions for small mom & pop type of food business. When I purchase package foods  and sauces at farmer's markets they never have that listed. But according to the USDA site there is no exemption because of the way you are packaging and selling. I did a quick google for "analyzing food for nutritional labels", and came up with Booker Lab., and there where several others listed.

A friend of mine works close with the USDA & Dept of Agriculture. The nutrition info on the label is a federal law but most importantly the coveted USDA Stamp with registered number. You don't want the Feds on your @$$.

Ok back to my corner now  :D

Here is a web site. Not sure if this will suffice or if you need it more accurate.

That's the site I used for my Boss Hog Sop'n Sauce Gus. State of AK says it would work for them just fine as long as exports didn't exceed 50,000 units from the US.

Thanks guys for all of your help! I am aware of the spark people nutritional calculator, but wasn't sure if that would suffice or not. I like the Booker lab, but having several different items, that would get fairly expensive in a hurry!

I love this forum! A guy can find almost anything that he would ever need right here, as long as it pertains to smoking and curing meats!!!!
