Just a reminder to all. The Midwest Smoke Out will be August 20th  and will be held in Cascade, Iowa. (My House) The Smoke out is open to all, just let us know if you are planning on attending. That way I can get an idea of how much food to have on hand. I can also give you directions on how to get here. If you need some place to stay there are a couple hotels in neighboring towns.

- The Number to the Dyersville Comfort Inn is 563-875-7700. I called them this morning on my way home from work. The room rate for that weekend is $104.49 + Tax. As of right now they have 28 rooms available. You can call and reserve a room on your card. If you tell them you are with the Bradley Smokers Midwest Smokeout they will do there best to group everyone together. They don't actually assign rooms until you are physically present and checking in. This way you can all be in the same area. (Nepas stayed there when he visited last fall clean rooms and friendly people)

- There is also  another hotel option that is just a little further away about a 15 minute drive. The Americinn the rates there for a room with 2 queen beds is $95 +tax. Here is their link if your interested. http://www.americinn.com/hotels/IA/Peosta

There are also several place to stay in Dubuque. Which is about 25 miles from the house.

- If your wanting to camp, this is just right outside of town. It is about a 5 minute drive from the house.
http://www.riverviewridgecampgrounds.com/ Very nice campground they have been doing a lot of upgrades to the grounds. 4 wheeler trails and horsetrails if you have them and canoeing tubing.

Come One, Come All!

We'll have a collection of cookers huffing and puffing away...

Couple of Bradleys
At least 1 Pellet Pooper
Couple of SRGs/TBEs
Perhaps a Backwoods something-or-another
And a combine rim burn pit and a pitchfork, if you are so inclined..

Hal and I will be up with Starnes, Soileau's, some Nepas sausage & sticks, a couple tri-tips, some Paducah Boudin, some coveted Iceman's Sop'n Sauce, and a wee bit of Wayne Jacobs Andouille - straight from New Orleans.   (LaPlace, actually)

Oh, and some Midwest themed Piggly Wiggly swag..    ;D

I got dibs on the combine rim.  ::)

Actually it is a rim off a 966 International. I will get the cooking grate out for you Curt!!

I got some ribs and some butts in the freezer and I have an order in for some briskets to be delivered. Miss Rachel said she wants to make some bacon for the Smoke Out. I have heard that she will also be getting schooled on how to make bread and buns using CRG's bread starter. Miss Rachel said she would also make some snack sticks and summer sausage. I may even get CRG to make up some of the Cilantro Tater Salad.
