I don't know about the rest of you but sence late April when I joined this site, I've spent a TON of money. I'm not even talking about the money I've spent on meat to try all the great cooking tips, but the cost of hardware. In less than 4 months, I've spent damn near $1800. That's without buying a Treager!!!

Thank God my wife doesn't look at this site. She'd kill me if she only knew. I know she's gonna kill me next week when the SRG gets here. I now own 3 smokers, an Auber PID, a meat grinder, meat slicer, sausage casings, sausage seasonings, assorted rubs, almost 400 Bradley pucks and a kick azz sausage stuffer (thanks Kirby!).

Kind of makes me hungry thinking about it!!! LOL

It's an Investment. I know my stuff will all be handed down to my kids as they grow up. If it isnt the actual equipment it will be the knowledge of how to do the things we all do. Along with the memories of doing it with Dad.

Actually my Bradley has helped me save money believe it or not.
I'm not paying the meat processor $3 a pound to make smoked sausage and jerky from our deer anymore.
And I'm not paying him $3 a pound to smoke and cure our bacon and ham when we get a hog cut up.
Also, this site inspired me to make my own fresh sausage and smoked cheese and salmon.
All way cheaper than store bought :)

Let's not forget to mention all of the great friendships we have made! That is worth more to me than anything.

No worries, I also got the leg racks AND the cast iron griddle top too.

You know what the funny thing is, I hardly have the time to use the equipment!! I work 9.5 hours a day with a 1 hour drive time each way. In the next 10 months, I'll only be home for 3 of them. Out of the 3 months I'll be home, I have to work 3 of those weekends. Good thing I retire in 4 years.

Show the SWMBO how to use the new SRG. I showed mine how! It is nice to come home from work and find a carved crispy TBE cooked bird on the counter ;D
