All my hopes and prayers go to your M-I-L and your family.

Treat her with all the love and smoked meats she can handle.

God Bless...

Hi David,

My husband is a newbie to smoking and loves these forums.  We were reading yours and it tugged at our heartstrings and we felt compelled to reply.  Briefly, my husband was diagnosed with stage 3b lung cancer almost 2 years ago.  He was given only a 10% chance to live, if he went through chemotherapy and radiation.  He is now on a miracle drug ( designed specifically for lung and pancreatic cancer), it is called TARCEVA.  He is doing amazing and the cancer is in remission .  We wanted you to know that there is ALWAYS hope!!  Always !!!   I believe the tarceva is a third line treatment, usually only administered as a maintenance drug, after traditional chemotherapy and radiation.  My husband is alive today because of this drug, it has saved his life, and mine !!!!   You may want to mention this drug to your oncologist.  Your MIL will definitely be in our prayers !  Hope is everything !  THat is all we had !  And it is enough !  Please don't ever give up !   We have a website dedicated to POSITIVE cancer stories only,  it is called www.dudefindthegood.org.   We are also on Facebook as Dudefindthegood.   And you can follow our positive cancer stories on twitter @dudefindthegood.     We want to give hope and positivity to everyone with this horrible disease -  it can be beaten !!    Ps  We are smoking a brined pork butt this weekend also, for the first time.  Good luck with yours!!

In case you wonder why I call Sonny "Cuz"...
He just reminds me of my favorite cuzzin, David, who finally lost a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
