Pulled Pork Sushi

There is a young man in my community that loves to make sushi.  He has a local following and his dream is to open a sushi restaurant.  He posts on facebook that he will be making sushi.  Folks place their order and on Thursday evening he delivers them to your door.  His sushi has either fresh vegetables or cooked ingredients so there is no danger of spoilage of raw seafood.  He is pretty inivative and I asked if he had ever thought of a pulled pork sushi.  He said he had but didn't have access to pulled pork to experiment with.  I said "oh yes you do".  Last night when he delivered our sushi I handed him about 2 pounds of pulled pork that was vac sealed and frozen.  It will be fun working with him to get this just right.

BTW, here is what I had last night.

Half of the plate is his pigskin roll.  A sushi roll with pork loin and veggies in it, wrapped in nori and rice and topped with crumbled bacon. 8)  The other is his veggie roll.  The pigskin roll is awesome!

I'm not really a Sushi eater, but would pound me some of that. In NorCal it seems that the sushi places are very vegan and somewhat snobbish. You may be on to something.

I'm just trying to help a young man to fulfill his dream.  He's a really nice hard working young man and if I can help him by smoking some pork butts for him and suggesting Starne's in the sushi roll, I'm happy to do so.

Had a Brisket sandwich with Starnes on my potato chips. Awesome.

We might have to dig a pipe line to Texas to "Flow" the Starnes this way.

Friends love it.

My wife and I are big sushi eaters. That plate looks great! Man I would hit that ;)
