On that better than Super Glue System you and your son are putting together... what monitor are you using... My Trinitron is dieing and for some reason I cannot find what I think will be a good gaming monitor.... The Trinitron is no longer made [V]

I like the idea of LCD but the reviews run from one side to the other. I would like to find a 24" but the only ones I find are 12 ms which will ghost in a game. Its got to be black to white and back again within 8 ms ....now gray to gray is so one way to another I cannot figure out what review to believe.... Suggestions?

Olds,

I have been so busy with the box I haven't looked at the monitor yet.  Man 24" is big.  (Oh no here comes Kurt).  We will probably be around the 19".  Briefly I saw an ACER brand with 2 models>>>model# AL2032W A, it is 20" 1680x1050 native, 800:1 contrast ratio, a 300 brightness and a 8ms response time for $539.00 and>>>simular 24" model# AL2416Wd, 1920x1200, 1000:1, 500 brightness and a 6ms response, $919.00.  I have not done a review search or price grab on these as of yet.

But have found out that a dual core is waist of money right now.  We will going with a straight up Athlon FX 64 3400+ with 2 gigs of Corsair XMS ram and duel GeForce 6800'S for the SLI output. Plus utilizing the SATA for the HDD's.

Keep me informed....

My gaming boys tell me that the best monitor for gaming is the upper end of the ViewSonic line.  One of them just bought a 19" ViewSonic with a 3ms response time, which he says is the fastest around without going into bankruptcy.  I think he paid about $350 for it.
