Permanently using cold smoke adaptor

I've been thinking about building some kind of weather housing for my Bradley.  It occurs to me that 50% or more of the "extra work" is related to being able to alternate between normal (hot smoke) configuration and using cold smoke adapter.  So the question is:  Besides the loss of heat contributed from the puck burner, is there any reason not to permanently operate in the cold smoke configuration, and let the heating element add all the necessary heat for all smoking conditions??  This would make the new weather housing simpler for sure.

no reason. Add the second element and you don't need to be concerned about the loss of the SG heat,

If your not going to be moving your smoker around than use the cold smoke adapter all the time, I do with no problems but like Gus said I also have the second element.
