Stuffer Mounting

I have 5 lb northern tool vertical stuffer.



Has anyone built any bases for these, I don't want it to scratch my counter so that is why there is a towel underneath but also the amount it can move when using it.  My thought is a base that would create a pocket to cover the top and underside of the counter to prevent it from lifting.  Also fit on the corner of the counter to limit sliding away from me and to one side.  Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

I have a old sink cutout I'm planning on mounting mine to. (one of these days  8))   Stick some rubber pads on the bottom and it should stay nice and stable.

I've seeen others use a large cutting board..

That makes sense.  Don't know why but since the stuffer has a small base I have been picturing something small.  A large cutting board would work well and a whole lot less work.

I also have the Northern tool stuffer.  I took a wood cutting board and mounted it to the board.  I was to lazy to pull it off the shelf but hope this give you and idea of how I did it.

Used carriage bolts.  You could counter sink


I have a non slip pad that I put down on my granite counter top and place the board on the mat.  No slips and no scratches.  I also have a drip mat to catch any moisture coming from stuffing.

I have the stuffing tube coming from the short end so I can place a cookie sheet to catch my stuffings.  The long end is used to put my casings and to give some leverage when turning the crank.  It does not wabble and does not slip.  Lots better than C clamps and no chance of damaging the counter top.

Put mine on a 1" x 8" plank about two feet long. If it slides you just throw a clamp on the board aqnd under the counter ledge.

A dampen towel under the board will also help prevent it from sliding.

I just screwed mine on a piece of plywood and then use c clamps to secure it to my counter top. Piker

Use a small cutting board.  You can cut one to exact size.  Go out and buy two small quick grip clamps.  Those clamps work better than those c type clamps and less likely to damage your counter tops.

I mounted mine to a board as well.  I off set it so I had a good clamping area and used E-Z Lock wood inserts with 1/4 - 20 bolts so it can be easily unmounted for storage as I store it with the board flat up against the cabinet.
Here is a link to what the inserts look like.  The inserts don't go through the wood and neither do the bolt so it won't scratch the counter.
