I was having a party on New Years day for some friends and family. Its an annual event where we get together and make 50 lbs of sausage and drink a  bunch of wine etc... It was also my first attempt at a pastrami. After brining it for 2 weeks we were in the final stages when the heating element went out sometime in the middle of the night. After the initial panic and getting everything transferred to the oven I found this forum and learned of the problem with defective heating elements. I called the fine folks at Bradley on Tuesday and they sent  a new one out with no hassles. It's nice when a company stands behind their products and makes customer service a pleasure. 

I'm looking forward to sharing experiences and learning from everyone else's as well.
