I swore I read a thread about this but couldn't find it, is there a way to make the sensor wire longer to work with a cold smoke adapter so I don't have to dismantle everything when hot smoking? The power cord is no problem, just the little sensor one.

Thanks

Sure, just splice another wire into the existing sensor wire.  no special wire needed.  just keep the conductors separate and well soldered.

If you look at this topic it gives parts for making bypass plugs. http://forum.bradleysmoker.com/index.php?topic=9164.15

Or you can just buy two 2.1mmx5.5mmx9.5mm DC Plugs, and put a piece of two wire cable between them.
Or you can cut your existing wire and splice a piece in to make it longer.

OK thanks Tom I wasn't sure if it was a special shielded wire or if it was just a basic 2 conductor wire. Didn't want to start chopping until I had more info.

I'll bring it to the shop tommorow and whip it up.

Thanks again everbody

I was going to just splice in a piece of cord on that also, at least thats the plan  ;)

Extension cables for power cords are available.

Here is one that Office Depot sell, but on-line computer retailers often have them in a variety of lengths.

Have a look at the link Habenero put up. Those cords look exactly correct, a longer version on the short one from the SG to the tower (power)

It is, and you can also couple that cord and the short power cord together, to make it even longer cord.

either your in, or your in the f***ing way

Just a bit of an update. Adding plain wire into the sensor cable does in fact work like a charm. Hooked up everything last night and the rig worked perfect.

I just spliced in a 16/3  cord into the tower power cable also.

;D ;D
