best wood for jerk

i just did a batch of jerk using half apple half mesquite

anyone out there have a better idea

What kind of recipe did you use for seasoning or marinade?
Sounds like you have found the perfect combination of wood. I usually use hickory for jerky, but I always try to go by the standard, if it's not broke don't fix it!!!
