Does anyone use Oxy Clean to clean their drip tray and racks. I have been using this for a while and have not seen any mention of it on the forum. I am just amazed at how easy it makes cleanup.  I bought a 2 Lb. Tub at the dollar store for a couple dollars.  I mix about 4-5 scoops with hot water in a meat lug or bus tray and add my drip tray, racks, bottom tray and water bowl.  Let them soak for a couple hours and they come out like a mirror.  I usually wipe them quick with soapy sponge after soaking, but no scrubbing required.

the only thing I have seen is if you put the powder directly on the aluminum bottom tray, it may discolor or oxidize it. I mix the powder with water in the tub first, then add the parts, then top with more hot water.

I did a rack of ribs and some wings today. Just cleaned the trays after soaking and thought to post this. Should have taken some pics but didn't think about it until they were clean.

I've got 2 jugs of Oxy Clean sitting on a shelf in the mud room for about 5 years now.  ::)

Wife got the boxed kits that had liquid cleaners for laundry and never used the powderd stuff.

Might have to dig em out and give it a shot.

Thanks for the tip.

DISHWASHER

I clean all my trays in the dishwasher but not the V tray or drip pan.

I put those in the DW, too.  I first scrape off any big chunks.  Works pretty well.

DISHWASHER
Is it just coincidence?
Or do Dishwasher and Divorce both start with a "D" for a reason?

The dishwasher doesn't seem to do too well on the oils from smoked salmon, so It's Oxyclean next time. Sure hope it works. Thanks for the tip.
