OBS SG Not Advancing Pucks

The last couple of times I used the OBS it wouldn't advance the pucks at first - maybe took 4 or 5 tries to get the first puck to advance and after that they would advance most of the time but not always. So I pulled the pucks out and looked down the tube while I hit the advance button. I could see the slider move back a little ways then hesitate then stop before it got all the way back. So I took the SG out to the shop and took it apart.

Took the air hose and blew all the wood chips out - but there weren't many in it. Then I took off the slider guide / cover (or whatever that thing is called) and took a close look at the parts. If you look at the back of the slider at the bottom edge you can see some wear marks. It has been rubbing against the guide and jamming.

So I grabbed some needle nose pliers and gently bent the back side of the slider in towards the middle so that the back edge would not catch, then took some #0000 steel wool and polished the slider and the slider cover where they were rubbing, then put some furniture wax on both parts. Put it back together and now there is no sticking or binding. Hopefully this is a permanent fix.

THANK YOU for what is quite possibly the most helpful post I have seen directly and clearly addressing the EXACT problem I am experiencing.  This was the whole reason I got o the forums today.
