Hi Folks.
I noticed that on my last couple of smokes that a couple of the pucks were overdone. So on investigation I found that about one in 6 pucks were not being pushed out, mmmmmm. I then cleaned my smoke unit out, motor, switch and re-connected the wired connections tried the unit again and the same problem. It's about 1 in 6 that it does not work but it does vary. I've had a look around the forum and similar problems seem to relate to either the micro switch or the motor. What do you think?

One point. I was talking to a person in Bradley customer services UK and was told that the micro switch works independently to the motor and does not make contact with the rotating arm.... ??? strange I thought that the motor arm rotates then depresses the micro switch cutting the power to the motor, is this correct? To be fair they were not technicians.  Model is the Bradley 6RD.

Thanks.

The motor arm does have to depress the micro switch. Other than what you have already done, you can try loosening the fasteners on the motor and adjust it so the arm depresses the micro further without striking the body that houses the switch.

Other things that my sporadically hang up the bisquettes from feeding could be a feeder tube that is not properly seated and/or straight.

Does the hole at the bottom of the feeder tube show a nice, even lip of metal all the way around or is it off-center, like in the pic in the link below?

Here is a thread on the micro switch.

Thanks guys for your replies and suggestions.
Just to update, to confirm that the pucks were not sticking I ran it without any pucks in and every now and then it still failed. On failure I noticed that the switch clicked but the motor did not turn so I am leaning towards the motor maybe?. I will try adjusting it first as suggested. I have managed to find a spare parts supplier and I have ordered a new motor and micro switch, funny they have just arrived as we speak.

I've noticed that the micro switch is glued in with some epoxy so it might be a little tricky to change anyone gone through this before?
Is this a special heat resistant glue or is normal 1-5 min epoxy ok or is there another way of fixing it?

Thanks again.

Just pop it off. I put my new one
Back with no adhesive. Been working  fine. Has not moved. Just have the screws holding it in place. Good luck.

Hi Mikecorn.
Cheers for the info. I have done as you have and all seems fine also changed the motor while it was apart. Tested and it is a lot better but still now and again when using the puck advance button it misses one All seems fine in auto when using the timer though. Will let you know if it misses an advance and double burns a puck on the next smoke.
