You never know until you open and try them. I have purchase habanero sauce that was much milder then Tabasco sauce. It all depends on how much habanero they add to the sauce. To me hot sauce is not how hot it can be, but what flavors it brings to the dish. Sometimes if you look at the side of a hot sauce bottle they may have a "heat meter" index. Often when you get them in a box set there will be a range of heat.

Give em a try, you never know. For me too hot is when it's "not fun" hot. If you can't enjoy your meal because of the heat, it's too hot. For myself, I don't care for the flavor of habaneros, the heat is ok but I just don't like the flavor.

Crack 'em open & test them out. Looks like various ranges of heat

I forgot to mention, if they are too hot to use as a condiment, they can be very useful in flavoring foods while cooking, or adding a little to other sauces such as ketchup, homemade sauces, salad dressings etc.

Come on guys give a guy a break. I think I almost had them. LOL Seriously! Throw a little on a cracker and try it. Just a drop at first then increase.  Personally If my hair isn't wet it's not hot.

I keep habanero sauce around for tacos...
What I buy looks like the bottle on the left (GREEN), but the brand is El Yucateco (like the bottle on the right).
I FREAKING LOVE THE STUFF!!!

However...
I DO NOT pour it on like taco sauce --- I use about 4-5 DROPS on a taco.
A 5oz bottle lasts me a long time.

I usually test hot sauce by pouring a little in the cap and drinkin like a shot, have had a few I've regretted doing that

viper125
