Paducah KY Beer Summit

As Larry ("KyNola" on the left) pointed out to our bartender at Shandies in Paducah, KY we have known each other for over 5 years but never met face to face until today!! Had a great time visiting with my friend while enjoying an ample amount of cold ones ;D ;D When the DW said she wanted to go to the Quilt Show in Paducah I immediately jumped at the chance of meeting Larry.

Another highlight of the day was meeting Larry's wife, the infamous Jan of "Jan's Dry Rub". I'm forever grateful for her rub :) Many wonderful smoked meats that I have shared with friends and family can be attributed to the use of her rub.

I look forward to the next couple of days with Larry eating great BBQ and learning/sharing techniques and secrets ;)

Had a great time getting to meet Pete and Karen. What nice folks. Lunch at Starne's on Thursday for Pete and me while Karen is "quilting".

Had the greatest time in Paducah, KY with Larry and of course Jan. What wonderful people!! Thanks for everything Larry and I'll put all those spices/rubs and Starnes sauce to good use when I get back home :D ;D

Got a chance to visit KyNola's local BBQ store and met the owner and her lawyer husband who smoked some scrumptious pork butts on Larry's old MAK 2 Star

Wow ! I had always enjoyed Jans Rub and talking to Larry on here. Not sure why but had a picture in my mind of a ole Kentucky Gentle man in his late 70's or so. What a surprise to see the are so young. Wonder where they got that great ability to make Jan's rub at that age!Hey THANK YOU both!

Sorry to be away from the computer the last few days. Wanted to take a minute and tell everyone what good folks Smoker Pete and his wife Karen are. Pete gave me a load of the famous Fagunde's Rub and even went so far as to call me as he was leaving town to tell me that he had left me a 1 liter bottle of Annie's Roasted Garlic Extra Virgin Olive Oil at the RV Park they stayed in.

Had a great time visiting with Pete and Karen. Pete and I went to Starne's for lunch one day. I'll let him describe Starne's. :)

Pete and Karen, have a very safe journey. It was our pleasure to get to spend some time with you and show you around Paducah.
