I will be in the San Antonio area for a week at the end of March. Does any one have ideas on places to eat and points of interest within 200 or 300 miles of the area.

Thanks, Brad

Well,
Make sure you see the Alamo and the River walk. There are some good BBQ places near the River Walk. Last time we were there we rode one of the river taxi's. It was dark and the lights and restaurants along the river were nice. We also went to Sea World. The space needle is a good idea also.
I like San Antonio. We were there to see my Son graduate from Basic training (Air Force).

Look at this site....http://www.sanantonioriverwalk.com/tourism_rivertour.html

Take some pictures for me and Ann. We thought about heading that way in a couple of months. Have a great trip.[8D]

I think I can use this trip as a reason to buy a new digital camera. My is about 10 years old.

The river walk was a fav of mine when stationed as Army Nurse at Ft. Sam.  I also liked a German restaurant right outside Ft. Sam Houston called The Ratskeller.  Many places to eat...an absolute plethora of places!  It has been over 25 years, but the folks of San Antonio love their food and many many good places to eat.

Alamo, Johnson Library in Austin, the Coast.  Much to see in so little time.

San Antonio is a great city. I loved the river walk. As Bill mentioned, many good places to eat. In my opinion the Alamo is a bit over rated, I was really disappointed with it.
