Outside weather protection in the winter

I considered putting my smoker in my attached garage but I like/want to smoke fish as well as four-footed meats. I'm also a little paranoid about a fire. I tried smoking outside last winter -25C/-13F but I could never get the temps up to smoking levels. Steady winds, no matter how light, just aggravate the problem.
Has anyone built a smallish insulated "box" that would keep the outside temps away and out of the wind?
I was just thinking of a big plywood box and some foam insulation but I figure with the knowledge base on this forum, it's probably been done before and I can learn from others.

Boy are you for a surprise!!  There is plenty of members here with setups for outside. Hopefully they will be by to post pics.

here is an idea, works great for me , along  with a small table to aid in placing trays in the smoker

Hi,
I put mine in a Suncast Verticle tool shed with a vent pipe and cap through the roof so I can smoke in the snow and rain. I put a small wire shelving unit in it to hold the smoker at table hieght and I use the shelves under it for plastic containers holding my pucks. If it gets real windy, rainy, or snowing, I close the doors on the shed and keep on rolling.

Made this out of leftover plywood and cedar.I insulated the inside with 3/4 foil wrapped foam board to help with the winter chill .
