I beat you by a year, tried my first last year at the age of 45. :P

Oh yeah! You young wippersnappers! LOL

I like to cook them in bacon grease. I always drain and keep bacon grease for cooking several things. i think Bacon would make ice cream taste better. LOL

Funny you should mention that. We have been experamenting with different chocolate covered bacons and last weekend took 6 sliced of it, broke it up into small pieces and put it in some home made custard. OMG was it fantastic.
Never try to teach a pig to sing; it wastes your time and annoys the pig.

Years ago Olds sent us a cute hot dog cooker/bun warmer. We use it all the time and Ann only uses Nathans or Hebrew Nationals on it. Love those doggies  ;D

ice - I know it's cold up there but there are better ways to warm your buns (and I'm refraining from saying anything about warming wieners).

theLDP

Wal mart sells them.

Stopping by to visit you on the islands was a WHOLE bunch nicer way to get warm than a camp fire turttle man  ;D Save some of that local rum for me cause we plan on stopping back by again!!  ;)

Ka Honu

How can you not love a guy who takes what was essentially a rude & lewd remark at his expense and reworks it into an invitation to my house?

Any time, ice (I'll have rum but you'll have to bring your own bun warmer).

Well I am 62 and just finished my first Nathans hot dog and you are correct they are great. I love that intense taste. So here is my question of all you sausage makers. Has anyone ever made a hot dog that they would honestly say matches the great taste. I would love to be able to make these.

X2 all these meat creators and no recipe! What the... is every one going to mixes these days. And Kirby being the sausage man you are I would think your already working on them. Never had one so going to have to try. my taste though leans towards a pork, chicken, turkey dog rather then all beef. But have lots of comments on my home made ones. Still not exactly what I want yet!  So i'll be watching for the recipe here.

Find some of them and give them a try. I just have not found the recipe yet. I have read the label and they put all sorts of stuff in them but obviously they do not tell what the spice blend is. I was just hoping that someone had it down and would share the recipe.
I am still having some problems with my back so it will be quite a while before I get to make some sausage. I helped Pete last night or I should say, I was there. I did not do much but let him try my foot controlled stuffer. This is the first time I have had to use it myself. I built it just before my surgery and had not had a chance to use it. I have loaned it out a couple of times but I wanted to see it work in person. I will have to say it sure makes things simple. Both hands are free to work on the stuffing. We took some video but we will have to have some time to get it edited.

Kirby glad to here your feeling some better. Those things take a while so don't rush it. It can go bad easy. Im going to be eating some I guess. Will see if i can figure it out. But was hoping one of you gurus would have already.  Any one got any thing close or not? Other wise starting from scratch. LOL Sounds kinda like a challenge boys. Who can get a copy cat first. LOL
