I am new to electric smokers but not to smoking meat. Ive got the 4 rack digital smoker and the primary reason is so I could do long smokes in it and not have to worry to much about babysitting it. The first thing I smoked was a 5 hour beef jerky and it was fantastic. the second time I used the smoker it was for a 20 hour brisket/ pork butt smoke. I got the smoker set up for the maximum time allowed(9 hours(BOO)). After the smoker got up to temp I put the meat in and cracked open a beer and sat back and just though about how cool at was that the  smokes rolling out the smoker and the food was going to be so good tomarow when it's done. Then out of no ware a random beep and the smoker turns off. This was after about 2-3 hours. I thought that was weird and really unassuring. Threwout the entire smoke the had to turn the smoker back on every 2-4 hours. I figured I would give it a second chance and just got it ready for a short 3 hour smoke and it did it again. 1 hour into it the thing turns off. Do I have a defective unit???

Please help. I really don't want to send it back. Just want it to work

I would think you do have a defective unit. Good thing is, Bradley customer service is excellent. I bet they send you an advance replacement controller and have you return the old one after, just a guess, but they're great that way.
Be VERY gentle with the cabinet, that is Bradleys biggest problem. But overall I think you'll love your digital. Good luck!!

Are you getting an E or E1 error code on the display?
Here are some links

That really sucks. It sounds like the unit is vibrating just enough when the puck advances that one of the plugs in the back might be loosing a connection and resetting the unit. Try unplugging and replugging in all of the connector on the back of the tower and s/g when they are new they are really stiff and can be a bear to get seated properly

There are no codes just a single beep and off
