I noticed a couple of threads where people were asking for an original wiring diagram before mods and including inline fuse and slider.  Since my buddy and I were putting together my 2nd element modification, we put together a diagram of the original setup, hope this helps people.

I'm not the best at this stuff but I think this is fairly accurate.  If something is amiss, please let me know and I'll make sure to correct it.

Just got done with my mod and this would've helped a bunch.  Glad to see I'm not the only one with that wire color scheme.

Well not sure its right. Is the thing at the red and white the power plug? If so that would have the element burning all the time. Also slider seems wired to the light and not  where it could be controlling it. I may not be thinking right.

If you try to follow the wiring by the different colors it gets confusing since the Bradley smoker obviously does not adhere to the NEC color codes.  If you just look at the wire paths, one side comes off the 3-prong plug on the back of the cabinet (bottom of the diagram) and goes through the slider temp control.  That will control the ON/OFF cycles.

My problem is you have the white wire connected to the element first the the slider. Which with the red wire already touching the other end it has power before the fuse.slider or light. If the white wire was coming from the slider and not connected before it would make mor sense to me. As it is you have power as soon as it is plugged in.

thanks Viper, can you confirm that my diagram is not correct?  If you specifically know what's wrong with is, please let me know and I'll update it.  as far as I know it's what I have in my box

Richard maybe this link might be able to help you out some. Not really a wiring diagram but plenty of pictures
