Where to eat? Surprise!!

Hi all,

If any locals living around Surprise Arizona could recommend favorite independent places to eat I would appreciate it. I am arriving next week for a week. I am coming from Toronto  and would like my stomach to have the opportunity to make the most of the trip.

If you are looking for a good bbq restaurant with great atmosphere and excellent service. The best burger around and Mac and cheese is to die for then BobbyQ's is your place. About a 15-20  minute drive and well worth it in my opinion. I know quite a bit about this place and will make sure your dining experience is a good one.

The top two cajun place are mom and pop. If you have some time to kill I would run up to Cave Creek / CareFree. Old little western town with some great grub, all mom and pop places. About an hour drive from surprise. Old Town Scottsdale has some great grub aas well. About an hour too. Surprise is still growing, not much out there.
Oh, If you have time during the day check out Mrs Whites for lunch downtown. Great Soul food..

Does any of them have or lean toward Italian flare? My bud that invited me has an Italian wife that cooks for him.

I eat here once a week atleast.. It is a store and deli that is fabulous.. Try it out. She will love it.. About a 20 minute drive.
