Are there two types of Big Easy cookers? All I find around here say Big Easy infrared turkey fryer.

Keymaster

I have a big easy srg, smoker, roaster and grill.  Just go to the charbroil website.

Ka Honu

There are several versions - see them all on their website here.  I'd go for the Smoker Roaster & Grill (Model 12101550) - it's the most versatile of the lot.

cannot go wrong with the SRG. I had the same question when I was looking to purchase mine and I just went with everyone else had. One of the best decision I made in adding to my arsenal.
"Telling you to invest in smoking your own jerky because buying it so much was getting way too expensive was the worst thing I could have ever done to us, now look at the monster I have created!" :-)

Does everyone use the propane unit or has anyone tried the electric?

I have the propane. Someone here does use the electric. Can't remember who though.

I have the SRG, propane.  Use it 3-4 times a week...awesome!

smoke em if you got em

I have the electric. It is more of a low and slow cooker than the SRG. It doesn't even come with a grill but I've heard someone, probably TMB, proved you can grill with it. Also the electric is a lot smaller.
