Well a little over a year 1 year and 3 months and my door is broke around the hinge on bottom. Not took it off to check as it still opens closes and seals. But bet that wont work for long. LOL! Also never got a round to sending the warranty in any way. So will have to do a repair soon if I want to keep smoking. It just sits on the bench and has a door stop. Don't sit out in the weather and still happens. I still think they should have replaced this system on there new one.If nothing else put a metal strip across the bottom. Or come up with a metal cap you could cover the bottom and insert a few screws or bolts. I like the smoker and customer service is great. But to know troubles exist and come out with new paint and such instead of dealing with customer complaints shows a lack of concern on their part I believe. And at this length of time that comes out to over 25.00 a week cost for smoker using or not.

I have looked at the new smokers and the way they re-did the hinge and bottom of the door dont make any sence compaired to the old ones

Well issues like that have been around and complained about for many years now. And ive heard the old argument about upgrades costing more. But these are manufactured failures and it does bother me they dont respond with repair kits or fixing the new model. I will do like everyone else and band aid it. But will never buy new one again till I see them make them right. Im sure coming up with a fix wouldn't have added that much to the price if any. Other then a few things I love their product. But would be easy to convert the smoke generator and heating system to a home made one. Or even a cast iron or steel of some one elses. Just saying. Great Customer service is a good thing. but there is a thing called customer appreciation. And with such a loyal following and supportive group I do thin they lack there.

I can't believe what I am reading. :o :o

It was about a year ago or so that I and others expressed our concerns about this same issue and you defended the smoker quality and construction. Even stating that improving the construction would increase consumer costs. We had quite a lengthy disagreement about this issue and now I see this 180 degree turnaround. :o It is amazing how ones perspective changes when they have the same issues.  ;);D

There are some design / manufacturing flaws that should be addressed and the opportune time to rectify them would have been when the new smoker was launched. Unfortunately it would appear that a new graphic was more important. :'(

Well jz. If you read it all you see that my complaint is they should have fixed it in the new one. I knew what i bought as well as everyone did. But i was confident a company such as this would take the pride to fix flaws with the new one. Not much except like i suggest a repair kit can be down for the old ones. No turn about just dissapointed that they didn't see fit to fix it in the new version. You can put make up on a pig. And its still a pig.

No just mean they painted the new one up to look neat. But failed to really improve its troubles. The smoker is one of the best. If not the best in its price range. Just feel if you put out a new version. Its usually new and improved. Not cosmetic. Other wise a waste of time.
