Sausage Hanging

What would you recommend to hang sausage from in the bradley?  I don't have the sausage hooks and was wondering if you could lay wooden posts across the top rack supports.
Any help is appreciated.

i use wooden dowel rods works great.i also put 1x4 pine boards on the top shelf bracket to raise the dowel rods to the top.

Wow thanks a million for the quick response and advice. I wasn't sure if wood could be used in the smoker.

I do the same thing. Here is a pic.

As shown below, I made a spacer out of stainless steel to lift my sausage rods above the top rack supports in my smoker.  This picture doesn't show it, but I have added a bolt behind the strip of stainless steel to keep the spacer a fixed difference from the inside wall of the smoker, because the spacer can bend, which might allow the ends of the sausage rods to slip off the spacer.
