I have wanted to set up my Bradley in a specific way for a long time. I wanted an OBS smoke generator hooked to a large cold smoke box. That would be hooked up to a 6 rack cabinet with 12 racks, fan, and 2 elements. All run by a PID.

I have the OBS and dual PID. I bought a pre-owned fan kit a while back from a member (it was never installed).  I built the cold smoke box a few weeks ago. I got a hold of a damaged 6 rack. It is new, never used, just has a dent in the rear corner which is not bad (hardly noticeable).  So now I need to do the mods. I would like an on/off switch for the 2nd element, and a switch for the fan so I don't have to keep reaching behind. The switches are installed on the front faceplate on the OBS. The 6 rack doesn't have a faceplate. So looking on the forum I saw a few posts from Beefmann that showed how he made some mods to his SG and also added a small box with controls.

So I did some PMing to him to ask a few questions (basically because I know crap about electronics). He gave me some good advice and the type of components I would need. My local stores didn't have much and I didn't know enough to know what to search for on line. So when we were talking I asked if he would locate the parts on line and send me some links. He offered to do one better and go get the parts I needed and send them to me and I could send him payment when we added it all up.

Now while we have PM"d a bit and talked, but we really don't know each other that well so I was really impressed that he swould go the extra mile for me.

So that is why I love this place and wanted to give a shout out of thanks to beefmann.

Gotta agree Gus. No better place than this to meet the nicest folks ever.  :)

I have meet so many great people on here. Everyone is very helpful and willing to share.  :)

This place is awesome!!!!.

Lots of great people willing to help, share and provide support, even if you screw up (not that it's ever happened to me ::)). Before joining this forum the only things I smoked were salmon and cheese. I was doing both wrong and now they turn out great. The other things I have learned to make at home since joining are:

Pulled Pork
ABT's,
Smoked nuts,
Awesome ribs
Back bacon
Side Bacon
Corned beef,
Pastrami,
Sausage (what an expensive and rewarding hobby this turned out to be)

And so much more that I can't think of right now (CRAFT's) and it is all because of this forum and the people on it. What a great place!!!!  ;D ;D ;D

Yes there are great people in this forum! Plenty of people who will bend over backwards to help. I try to give back when I can ;)
Natural Gas 4 burner stainless RED with auto-clean
2 TBEs(1 natural gas & 1 LP gas)
OBS(Auberins dual probe PID, 900w finned element & convection fan mods)
2011 Memphis Select Pellet Smoker
BBQ Grillware vertical smoker(oven thermostat installed & converted to natural gas)

Couldn't agree more. I don't have a lot of time on here yet but I sure have learned a lot already. I frequent a couple other forums based on different subjects and let me tell you things can get ugly behind those anonymous user ID's. I really appreciate the friendly helpful attitudes here. Glad I found this place after purchasing my OBS!

Got to agree with  all of you. Ive had quite a few help me on stuff. Send me samples for free. And a lot more. Always try to pass it on. Ive got quite a few now i consider good friends. People always willing to help and share. And when there is a comment misunderstood or angers some one. They mostly take it private with pm's. Then come back smiling. Yep more like family then a web site.

I wouldn't have tried 90% of what has come out of Bradley if it weren't for this forum.  Not to mention the friends I've made.

Ditto. Although I don't get much time these days to use the Bradley, I still love coming here and looking/ reading all the threads.
No use of any of my toys this week as I have been forces in on both my days off. Btw, just got to work this morning.

I do agree and it goes to show the quality of people on this site. The ability to help a fellow member out when needed or point them in th right direction.. there will be times i need help and know that the help will be here.  if it was not for this forum and the  people on it .. I  would not have started making bacon, pastrami Canadian  bacon if it was not  for the help of the members of this site..

Gus your quite welcome and be happy to do it again

another reason to love this forum, IS the rewards that people show for  going the extra mile, While I love the gifts, I was just helping out a fellow member, Gus had sent me a package for helping him out, getting the parts and shipping it to him, Though i have no problems  with that , he was kind enough to send me this...

gun powder, star meat rub, Saban sauce and Gibson white sauce... looks like im gonna have to make  some gun powder pulled pork,,, and hope it  does not explode

GusRobin

Glad you liked it. Just had to send the Saban sauce --ROLL TIDE

Without wishing to bore anyone I have had a cr*p year for one reason and another, had very little time to use the BS!  >:(

However I always try and find 5 minutes a day to pop on to this forum to catch up, I am not a member of any other forums and I don't think any could match up.

I always come away with a new sense of purpose even if it is just learning something I may never get around to try.

Pat sums it up well and the forum has helped keep me sane this year!!!  :)
