Hi all,

Just got back yesterday from NOLA.  Since I was told that pics were required I am throwing this one up while I sort through the 850+.  Most you guys probably wouldn't care much about and some are, um, let's just say they are PG13+.

Was walking down Royal to go to Barkus and I here someone call out "Drac!"  It turns out to be squirtthecat!  He found me in a major city, in the French Quarters during Mardi Gras!

More to come.

It was great meeting you and Amy!

I was just leaning up against a light post minding my own business (MrsSTC and MIL were shopping up and down Royal), and I spot a guy in a kilt walking down the street towards me.   I remember the pictures from their last big NOLA trip, so I figured this had to be them..

Small world!

I wish we weren't in a constant rush this past weekend.  Honestly we had about 3 hours over the five days that were weren't doing something.  Granted some of the meals took 3 hours.  We were either doing something, on the way to something, waiting for something or sleeping.

BTW, meant I could have spent more than the two minutes saying hello.

I know that food is one of the first thing on people's mind here.  So to start off with, the Coronation Ball.  Straight forward Cajun cooking.  Pretty decent for buffet -

On to Galateire's -

A sweet salad.  The cheese was WAY potent -

Dinner -

Dinner.  Had to have Mother's debre -

We tried Margaritaville but turned out to be totally lame.

Nothing I couldn't have done at home -

Went to Gumbo Shop -

But fair there was total tourist.  Gumbo was ok.

The mudbug and tasso pasta was totally bland.  While I wasn't expecting blow your head off but this had not spice -

Favorite place was Pierre Masperos -

Had breakfast there one morning.  Amy had Bananas Foster French Toast, hold the bananas.  The sauce was amazing -

I had a andouille, egg and cheese bake that was killer -

My second favorite was Pat O'Brien's.  I know the Hurrican's are tourist but I love them -

The Shrimp grits was way better than expected.  I loved the fried grits.  Added a great flavor -

Of course was the always great Cafe du Monde -

Very nice!

And nice to cross paths with you...

MrsSTC and I happened to see the the parade Drac and MrsD was riding in. (as it stepped off out near where we were staying in Uptown)  Of course we didn't recognize them, as the riders were all costumed head to toe.

Here are a couple shots of us from a parade site -
