What are the advantages of a electric smoker over a gas smoker?

beefmann

Electric smoker needs a power source at all times during the smoking and cooking process

a propane smoker is more portable, can use pellets, sawdust or wood chunks in a box near or above the flame to generate the smoke, There are some that have external smoke generators that require power to move the pucks or an air pump to move the smoke into the cooking chamber..

Other then above nothing that i can think of

You will have somewhat better control over the heat with the electric.

You can use the gas in the rain if you need to do so.

On the other hand, more people seem to run out of gas in mid-cook than run out of electricity.

Well the electrics also run in the rain. Dont run out of fuel. And have better control. Lol!
