I had that problem with a new out of the box obs.Bradley sent me a new micro switch which did not fix the problem. They then replaced the whole smoke generator [all under warranty] so now i have a spare smoke gen with that very problem. Push the manual advance and all works well, once.let it go for 20,40,60mins and it does not advance a puck. It seems that it's not getting the pulse from the 20 min timer to start the cycle. Bradley assured me that the timer never breaks but having worked the electronics industry for 35 years I have my doubts. Seeing as they replaced the whole generator for free I left it at that.

I had that problem too, plus kicking out 3 at a time.  Bradley told me to replace the micro switch and that solved the 3 at a time thing.  But even after a thorough cleaning, I still have them stop advancing every once in a while.  Someone posted recently about the advancing problem and how he fixed it.  Something about adjusting the part that holds the puck magazine in place and guides the puck pusher.  "just barely snugged the screws".

I'll see if I can find it or maybe he'll reply.

Check out 4given's post dated 29 APR 13 in "The Black Bradley Smoker".

When you do not use the advance button, do you hear the motor trying to cycle the bisquette through?

update:

did a good cleaning and testing, i did disconnect  the micro switch and pressed the advance button .. the motor operates , when released the  motor stops where it is at no mater what position it is in, Connected the micro switch back up and pressed the advance button again and the motor makes  one complete cycle as if  to advance a bisquete, checked all other connections. im beginning to think it is the timer in the bottom of the smoke generator that is or has gone bad.

have sent bradey a e mail  describing the above  problem and what i have done .. hopefully they  will get back to me and let me know if it is the timer.

more to  follow

If you had a wiring diagram you may be able to add your own timer? Not sure how the timer in the Bradley is connected.

pens, might have to look into that .. auber has some that are programmable. just need to know the duration for one complete cycle

I'd like to have a wiring diagram for the unit. I wasn't able to find one. Im sure Bradley will have one if you can talk them into providing it even just a list of the functions of leads exiting the "black box"

Mine is in the "Hit or miss" mode also. Some have stated that replacing the motor and the micro switch have fixed it. What a pain!

Beefman when you call Bradley ask to talk to Lance. He is one of the guys in the shop tearing these apart and putting them back together.

This seem to be a problem that has not occurred before. I hope Bradley gets it sorted out soon. It would be interesting to see what the problem is, and the solution.
