Is this the norm or does this happen rarely? I know 2 people that own them and it has happend to both of the them and one of them twice. I just ordered mine and it will be here tomorrow. I'm starting to second guess my decision.

It happened to me one time but it was because I'd left the door open to cool the smoker off after I was finished using it and a big gust of wind caught it.  I just straightened the hinges and put it back on.  Other than a small piece of trim that broke off it seems to be working OK.

i have heard that  yes the door has fallen off on other bradleys,, it is a  hinge / trim issue

From what I have heard the trim issue has been fixed and just needs to work itself out of the system.  Much like the element issue when it was all happening

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Bradley worked on the problem awhile back and as far as I know things are a okay now.
