Thermometer test

so I put the thermometers I have to a test.  well what I found was that all three have different readings.  One is brand new.

My last smoke was really dry so now I'm thinking that it could be the miss readings that is the culprit


The readings are

194
131

I tied them together for a better reading and none were touching the rock

Put a pan of water on the stove and bring to a boil.  Should read 212.  Also can lay probe on an ice cube and should read 32.

I would use the test that TT has suggested. There may be a flaw in the way you are testing. Even the cheapest digital thermometers will be within +/-2°F accuracy.

When you put the probe in the water just make sure the tips go in and not the leads.  Getting water into the probe connection will fry the probe.  Trust me on this  ;D

ok I did another test and this time with water.  2 of the 3  thermometers show close readings but  one was way out and is going back to the store.
