Amazing number of new smokers?

I have been on forum for about two years and have seen an amazing number of new members sign in during that time.  As a neube , it's great to see so much interest in the "addiction.  Maybe this has been the standard for this forum.  It's GREAT.

while there are a  lot of new  people that  have joined,, the biggest inrush of new members i have  notices have been around  Christmas,,, and over the summer typically, always good to  see them and provide advice to them

As one of those newbs, I'm definitely thankful for this forum! Got my BTIS1 for Christmas.

My daughter and I split a hog recently as her fiancé also smokes so we ordered it all fresh so we can make our own bacon and hams.  I asked the butcher if this was unusual and they told me that it is becoming more and more common for people to order fresh and cure/smoke their own.
