Hey everyone...  been a while since I've visited you all....  but as I know just how helpful this community has been in the past I thought I'd check back in on the off chance  someone can help!  I'm wondering if anyone lives near any of the following places that might be willing to do me a HUGE favour:

Webster, TX
San Jose, CA
Sunnyvale, CA

I'm trying to source a particular piece of computer equipment that is essentially out of stock globally, but there are a few display/open box items still in stock at some locations of an electronics chain called FRYS.COM ...  and the stores in the above 3 locations apparently have it.  They won't ship...  in-store collection only...  which is where I need the help...  I live in the UK!

So...  if anyone was willing to help me out by going to collect this item, and then posting it on to me in the UK, I'd be forever indebted to you.

I would of course pay you completely up-front for the item, shipping and your time to ensure you are not out of pocket at all! ...  I could use Paypal, or whatever your preference might be.  In spite of being away for a while, I am a long time member of this forum and a few of the regulars should be able to vouch for my contributions.... so no worries about getting scammed or anything.

Please PM me if interested... and I've give you more details.  Thanks!

According to their website there are some not too far from me. If no one else is able to help you, tell me what you need and I'll go get it for you.

Might even be able to do a store to store transfer. That would get it close to Gus

That's very generous...  but they have an online stock check, and as far as I can tell, only the 3 locations I mentioned have one.  This is the item by the way:

I can contact them and see if they are able to transfer to another store... I suspect not, but you never know. Which is the closest store to you Gus? Don't want to inconvenience you so if it's quite a ways then no worries...

I'm sorry. When I googled it the first time I didn't realize I was looking at a different Fry's web site. It was the site where they sell ISP service. There aren't any Frys locations locally.

Thanks for looking...  much appreciated!  Might get lucky with another member, we'll see. Otherwise, not the end of the world.

Is there a store near you?

Eh? I live in London, UK! Don't let the "Eh" fool you though...  I am a Canadian...  just displaced...

I know that I was posting that as more of a question to others who may be willing to check it out but not close to one of the 3 stores listed

Oops... of course you know that  :-[ was too quick on the send button...

I have now emailed the 3 stores that are showing as having the item, and have asked if they can transfer to another store, or maybe even just ship it directly to me or someone local in the USA....

Thanks!!

I would recommend that you call them direct. You may have more of a chance of getting the response you are looking for.
