Have not been on here much. Been a sad and hectic year so far. Dad passed in January, a 34 year old nephew passed in March, one of my brothers passed in May, and now my 34 year old son-in-law is in the final stages of pancreatic caner and it has consumed 3/4 of his liver. I spent the first part of this month up in Alabama with him and my daughter. They are having a rough time of it, physically, emotionally, and financially. I may have to drive up again pretty soon. I stayed until he finished his first round of chemo. On top of cancer he has also been fighting a loosing battle with Crohn's disease.

If you do not hear from me very often this is why. I have been trying to read most of the posts but have obviously missed some of them. I have seen a lot of good cooks on here as of late.

WC, I'll add you to my daily prayer list, you've been hoeing a tough row of late for sure! Our daughter has Colitis so I know how disruptive diseases like Crohn's can be. Add cancer to that and I can't even imagine. Stay positive and look for the little blessings in your life, it helps me when things get me down.

Thanks guys. I will be fine but the kids are having a rough time of it. Prayers must be helping as Andy (son-in-law) after receiving a lot of fluid, blood and antibiotics is starting to feel better. Unfortunately there is only about a 1% chance of stopping the cancer at this point, but its progress can be slowed and he can be more comfortable with the Lord's help. Also the other issues like the Crohn's can be held at bay.

Thanks again. For those of you who want to follow my son-in-laws (Andy Martin) progress (or just want to see what he and my daughter (Tracy) look like, here is a link: https://www.facebook.com/cureforandy which is a fundraiser site that one of their friends set up. Tracy is an elementary school teacher and Andy has a bachelors degree in Business Management and currently unemployed for obvious reasons. With his declining health he does not now look the same as his pictures on these pages.
