A friend of mine gave me some ground elk to make into jerky. Going to use the high mountain seasoning. Question is, are jerky racks necessary? Or some type of frogmat?

From what I'm reading it should be approximately 6ish hours at 150.

Thanks for the help

I'm making it for the first time in my BDS and plan to cut strips to the appropriate length so I can hang them from skewers in 3  levels. I've read that others spray the racks with Pam or equivalent and lay on the racks. Apparently the Frogmats work well however I don't have any and don't know where to get them in Canada so I'm going with what I have. Hope it all works out for you and let us know!
It's going to take a lifetime to smoke all this.

frog mats or jerky trays should be used for ground jerky
