smoker pops outside outlet
« on: November 14, 2015, 10:13:23 am »
When I plug in my Bradley smoker into an outside outlet it trips the outlet. It never happened before and when I plug  other items into the outlet they work fine. I plugged the bradley into an extension cord and plugged into an outlet inside my house and it worked fine. Any ideas why it keeps tripping the outside outlet?

if the outlet is a GFIC outlet, you  may have a spurious current through ground,,, check it

GFIC = Ground Fault interrupter Circuit, .. translation is if this circuit detects any  voltage or current  through through the grounding  conductor ,, it  will trip,.. it is a  safety feature... which makes me think you  may  have a current or  some type leakage of  voltage going through ground,,, or  even a  faulty GFIC receptacle.

My guess, as Beefman suggested, is a bad GFCI.  At least, I'd start with that assumption because it would be the easiest problem to correct.
