When I was at the supermarket I checked out the steaks. Well some fool had priced the nicest rib eyes steaks at $5.25 per pound. Black Angus and not out of date. Somehow all 10 of them found their way into my cart... Now that I think about it perhaps I should have called the manager as those are normally 12.00 or so here.

Naw even a blind squirrel comes across an acorn once and a while. Now where it would be wrong is if I was a-wishin' the same person was wrapping meat again next week Saturday. Now I'm now wishing, but I got my fingers crossed....  ;D

Habanero Smoker

Nothing wrong with that. I call it finding a real good bargain.

It's funny how regional prices are. In my area, although I find Angus beef regularly in a few supermarkets, it is generally the least expensive meat; because if either Hannaford's or Price Chopper stocks Angus beef its because they got it for less then the other types of beef they carry. Other wise they will not stock it.

We got a coupon last week in the mail from our local mini super chain for a free gallon of milk ($2.59) with an additional $10 purchase. Said milk also is in their weekly sale ad for $1.49.

Anne went today & when they scanned the milk, it rang up $2.59 less $1.10 sale price. When they scanned the coupon, it rang up -$2.59 coupon. Not only a free gallon, but they paid us a buck to take it off their hands! ;D ;D

And yes, we checked the expiration date! ;)

Anne even questioned it & the girl said "Well, I guess you got a deal then."

I'm sure she'll file a report to her manager about the error during her lunch break. ::)

Ya think if next time I check into a hotel & they ask "Smoking or Non", they would mind?

I am exactly the same, I get an almost perverse pleasure getting one up on the big supermarket chains! ;D

Sadly it happens very infrequently!

I had a similar situation happen to me last night. I remembered Olds posted this thread so I tracked it down to add my story.

I was perusing the meat section at Safeway when I came across a Prime Rib roast priced at $0.11 (11 cents) for the whole thing. The true value should have been at least $40. It gets better....with my safeway card the price is reduced to $0.07 (7 cents).

After much debate with myself, should I have them ring it though with my groceries?..... I decided to alert the meat manager to my extraordinary find. He looked at the price, stood silent for awhile, then said thank-you and took it.

Now, doing the right thing is said to be reward in itself, but, maybe a half price offer or a steak would have been nice.
it's amazing how many of my co-workers now think of me an idiot.  ;)

The last time I went to our Fareway store, I decided I was hungry for some dried beef, so I got to the meat counter and ordered a pound of it, they packaged it and I went about getting the rest of my groceries.  When I got home to put the stuff away, I saw the sticker on the meat wrapper said some kind of cheese instead of dried beef.  I then looked at the price and it was $5 a pound less than what it should have been.  Wish I would have bought 5 pounds.....

Naw - it is NOT stealing - at least not from a legal stance.  Many states (as here in Florida) have very strict advertising laws.  If they advertise (by an article, coupon, sign, or a sticker) a certain product for a particular price, they are obliged by law to let you have that product at the stated price.  The cheese lable on meat may be a way out for them though.

It is nice to run across those good deals though (actual or accidental)!  ;D ;D

Since I was already home when I found it, I doubt they know about it. :D
