Smokin in San Diego

There are 3 (identified) BS users in North County who are planning to meet for no specific purpose other than our common interest in smoking. The thinking is to get together in a couple of weeks - somewhere between O'side and Escondido (or one or the other). If your interested let me know and I will make sure you know what gets planned.

i am leaving the new land of happy cows to the origional land of happy cows... wisconscin... but that may change... two weeks ago we were headed to the mississippi river valley... three weeks ago we were staying out west...

so... when my boss... the big giant brain... gets if figured 100% against me and 100% in his favor... then i will know for sure...

so for now im looking out the window at the angels of los angeles angeles of anaheim stadium at the 5 and katella in anaheim...

well nuts owrstrich, i sure understand. maybe we will have the second meeting in wisconson if that is where you end up...

Gizmo, you pick a spot between the pacific and escondido and gary (neighbor with an origional bs) and i will meet you there - an address would be cool. i go up and down the coast but not inland very often.  Would 9am work for kind of a late breakfast,,, will give me time for early coffee, pay bills, and stop at Mikes Meats on the way home.

owrstrich, if something happens and you come available let us know asap and we will relocate to somewhere just off the I5.

The nationals sound awesome.  Had always planned on making it up there some time.  Haven't been to NHRA since 85 in Connecticut.  Maybe that is where I developed my taste for BBQ'n, burning Nitro and smokin' tires, now burnin' wood and smokin meat.  I know it's a stretch.

I don't mind travelin to the coast so any place that you are familiar with is fine.  9 AM is definatly do-able.  Now, where is Mikes Meats?  How do they compare to one of the Iowa Farms markets?

I will figure out the name of the B'Fast place in Carlsbad Village. Been there and know where it is but cant think - now that it is time.

PS, Mikes Meats on Mission Ave. ONLY Iowa Beef, maybe a little kansas in there too but he wont admit it.  He does however have a Kansas Livestock Association sign in his window so when it comes time for high price / highest possible quality meat that is where I go.
