When I told CyberDude what I got Susan for Christmas I thought he would fall off of his chair laughing...so I thought I would share it here as well... everyone need a good laugh!

1. I got her a  black pearl ring with diamonds going around the pearl that matches the necklace I got her 3 years back.

2. I got her a stainless steel Walter PPK/S 380 to replace her Ole 38 cal.

Olds,
Those aren't contrasting they're complimentary.  The brilliant sheen of black pearl and diamonds against SS is beautiful.  Furthermore the ring says "look at me" while the gun says "you've looked long enough now back off Punk".  Sounds perfect to me :)
Vegetarian is an ancient aboriginal word meaning "lousy hunter"

Haha.... that was my first thought too!  ;)

Nice presents Olds, musn't let my partner see this post as she might want the same! Certainly wouldn't give her the gun in case she is not happy with the new dishwasher I had in mind for her present.  ;) :-[

I wouldn't have to get my lady the gun, cuz if I gave her a dishwasher she would go out and buy the gun herself.  I'm not allowed to give her anything that pertains to cooking or cleaning....whereas she is more than welcome to get me something that pertains to cooking.  GO FIGURE!!!!

Smokey, sometimes it's just not fair is it? ;D
Old's I think that's a perfect gift. I might have to do that one too! Anns old 357 is getting a slight tarnish on it and she's been complaining that her rings are way to small anymore. (No I didn't tell her her fingers were gaining weight). I'm dumb but not crazy! ;D

Hey all... I pick up Susan's Walter today.  Man is it ever a sweet deal.... I have one in blue but I think I might get one in stainless like her's for myself. It has a really nice hand feel. I can't wait to take it to the range.

BTW I'm have the triger pull on my 9m reworked to a 4 pound pull.  Not to light, but better than it is now.

If you have not seen my new 9 this is it. (image is to large for a post board, but the details are great. Just click on the link.

That's pretty Old's! It'll be almost like she's wearing jewelry. :)

Both selections are definitely nice, Olds...good taste, good job.

I'm hoping to bring my wife along in that area, too.  I've been plying her with diamonds since we met and I've gotten her started on a Walther P22.  She's not too enthusiastic yet and a little recoil shy...but I have hopes.

Now about that Springfield...it's fine lookin' and all...but there's just something about a 1911 in 9mm that seems...oh...unnatural...un-right.   ;D ;)

Over on the gun board I go to from time to time there was a link about a 1911 shooting contest to see whose 1911 would jam etc... There was just about every make of 1911 there. At the end of the day (hundred of rounds later) it was only the one 1911 9mm that did not jam.... All of the 45s had jammed out.

Unnatural? A matter of option.  I would rather be there shooting when needed then have egg on my face trying to clear a jam at the wrong time...  ;D Don't misunderstand me I loved my Colt 1911 45, but as of last week I sold it to my operation manager. I found I could get 5 - 9mm off before I could resight and shoot the 45 three times. Now if I was a younger man than I could have handled the 45 better... goes with the age...

Aw, you know I was just funnin' ya.  The best gun to shoot is the one ya shoot the best.  Besides, I do own one 9mm...a Kahr PM9.  It just about disappears in the waistband and it's a handful of fun on the range, to boot.

In defense of my 1911, though...I scarcely remember the last FTF I had.  It was during breakin, about seven years and a few thousand rounds ago.

Didn't think so, friend!  Oh...and since we're postin' gun porn, here's the Kimber of which I fondly spoke...

Very nice.... are you part of a Rapid Fire Pistol Team?  I understand that gun does well in those matches.

Nope.  While we do have a bunch of user groups at the range, I'm not sure we have one of those.  However, I have been a Cowboy Action shooter for a few years, even though I haven't competed much this year due to ailments.  Rapid fire of a different sort!

Here the Cowboys dress the part and shoot 6 shooter 45s.  Do you?
