We had a family of rats move into our attic. Well Susan would not allow me to kill them so I drove them out with ammonia. Well they set up in an old tree trunk in the back yard. Now they have had babies... many~~!

Susan still will not allow me to kill them... so now I got to figure out how to trap 30 rats and relocate. Joy joy joy.... :o

Olds, you can feed them.  I hear they really like DCON.  After a full belly, they will be easy to move. :-\

Here's how to do it.  Tell Susan you're going to feed them to tame them down a bit so you can humanely catch and relocate them.Buy one of those squirrel feeding blocks that resemble a lot of corn pressed together, and a small box of d-con.  Sprinkle all of the d-con over the block and set the block on the stump.  Now this is the most important step.  Burn the d-con box before Susan sees it.  Miss this step and you're in deep doo doo.  When the corpses start to show up, shrug and say "who would have thought squirrell food would kill rats?".

They must have been from Southern California.  They turned right which took them south.  :D

Wildcat, the rats from Southern California are electrifried.   ;D
Went to turn on the spa heater last night and it didn't come on.  Shut it all down and pop off the front panel.  Found a wire that was chewed through.  Went to splice it back together and while cleaning out all the Rat nesting material, I saw the corporate laying across one of the wires that is not coated.  Don't know where he got fried at but it took care of the problem.

So Olds, just invite them to a good spa treatment.

Giz I think a lot of them HAVE migrated to Forida.  A friend of mine had to do some extensive re-wiring of his motorhome last year due to rats in the coach and squirrels in the engine compartment.  He no longer lets it sit unattended for 4 or 4 months.
