About 30 yrs ago I was at a cookout and they used a sauce that I loved. I ask for the recipe ad got it. This is not a tomatoe based as per say, more of a vinegar base, well it did come out of NC. I have carried this in my billfold all these yrs, wore it out and re-copied it a coupla of times.

One cup of oil
five cups of vinegar ( I use white)
1 tbs crushed red pepper
2 tbsblack pepper
1/2 tbs garlic salt
2 tbs salt
1 tbs worcestershire sauce
1 tbs mustard
2 tbs sugar ( you can use syrup, honey,or molasses I use honey)
This is a great basting sauce.
If this is more than you need you can half or third everything. This is good on beef, game, and pork.
To make a dipping sauce I just omit the oil and add more rooster sauce and more honey to it. I just mix and taste as I go, I love it, I believe I could drink a slug of this stuff by its self, Mike M
PS if you try this let me know what you think
